"Broken twill" is a variant of classic denim. This fabric is woven in a cross twill weave, with the diagonal pattern running in an S and Z direction. This creates a particularly smooth pattern on the upper side and the typical herringbone pattern on the underside. Broken twill denim is softer than classic woven cotton fabrics.
